Marchese srl, importer of Lobsters from Cuba
Carribean lobsters panulirus argus are one of the most excellent type of lobsters: without nippers, they have soft flesh and delicate taste and they are really appreciated by european consumers.
Marchese srl has made an exclusive agreement with the first cuban seafood Company as regards the supply of live and cooked lobsters. We are sole import agent in Europe.
We import lobsters, both live or cooked. Live lobster have 10 % death rate; cooked lobsters have 10 days expiry.
Goods are shipped by air and within 24 hours from their departure they are delivered to our customers
Live lobsters are packed in polystyrene box with dry ice. Cooked lobsters are packed in 10 kilos dry box. All lobsters we imports have health and veterinary certificates as well as all requested documents for import.

Live lobsters (Panulirus Argus) from Cuba
Packaging: Live lobsters are packed in expanded polystyrene box (gross weight 11,5 kilos, net weight 10 kilos) with frozen gel pack and papier in order to mantain temperature and integrity of goods.
Area and way of fishing: Carribean lobsters are fished in Cuban insular platform. The way of fishing with basket is used in order not to damage lobsters
Production : Captured live lobsters are put in special reproduction area; after 48 hours lobsters are worked and packed.
Lobsters are submited to a thermical shock in salt water between 13 and 15 degrees for about 3 minuts
Lobsters are packed with gel pack at -18 degrees and covered with paper.
Mantaining, transport temperature
: In order to mantein lobsters sleeping, they must be submitted to a temperature between 14 and 15 degree. Transport must be effectuated within 24 hours
Special conditions to keep lobsters alive : Lobsters can be k
ept in special swimming, observing the following steps:

The amount of oqxygen in the water must be higher than 5 mg/l.
- The amount of solt must be betweeen 35 and 37%.
- Water temperature must be around 18 -20 degree.

The amount od amonium must be less then 0.2 PPM.

The minimum vital area is 14 l. of solt water each kilo of lobsters.
Availability : Lobsters are availiable from 15 june to 5 march of each
year.
Selling :
Lobsters are not solt during reproduction period that is from 1 march till 31 may of each year.
